OUR HISTORY
Spazzolificio Piave Spa started its activity over 150 years ago manufacturing all kinds of brushes (from hairbrushes to toothbrushes) and its main business was contract manufacturing for the Italian Army. In 1970 the company was taken over by the Zecchin family, who transferred the activity to its present location, Onara. Here new models and brands were created for the distribution on national and international markets. Research and design in the 80’s improved the Piave toothbrushes developing more functional products with top quality raw material, creating many iconic products for the Italian and other prestigious markets. In the 90’s, with the launch of Silver Care, the antibacterial concept was introduced for the first time ever for this type of product. This innovative toothbrush was made possible due to a simple but effective solution: the naturally antibacterial silver coated replaceable head.

The Piave toothbrush company uses a solar panel system that independently produces clean and inexhaustible energy, avoiding the use of fossil fuels and consequently air pollution. NATURALMENTE ANTIBATTERICO
Silver Care is a toothbrush with a refillable head, the main feature of which is its antibacterial properties. The head of a toothbrush is the ideal place for the formation of bacteria and their proliferation. Water that remains between the bristles, a warm-humid environment and bacteria in a bathroom are critical elements for the rapid deterioration of a toothbrush’s hygienic conditions. The silver head of the Silver Care toothbrush, on contact with water, releases active ions that allow for a drastic reduction of the bacterial load that normally accumulates between the bristles. Silver Care therefore guarantees a higher level of hygiene than a traditional toothbrush.

MAKE AN ECOLOGIC CHANGE Plastic products are the most common in everyday life and their disposal is one of the biggest problems of our times. Their life cycle ends up in the waste, but only a small part is recycled. Often they are not collected and dispersed in the environment. Small and simple daily habits, when adopted by the whole population, can help to significantly reduce this and other problems of environmental degradation.The widespread use of toothbrushes with refillable heads, for example,would allow Italy to save around 2000 tonnes of plastic. Silver Care’s Click & Change system allows for a 92% saving of plastic.
